Thoughts On Teenage Binge Drinking

As Asbo and I took our familiar path through the woods this morning we stumbled upon the sorry debris.
The harbinger of summers treats yesterday brought yoof out for an evening drink or two, and as usual they failed to take home the empties.
Clearing up the cans and bottles I noticed that half of the damn things were still full.
Teenage binge drinking isn’t what it used to be.
In my day there was none of this new fangled 500ml in a ring pull can. Oh no. We had full on party sevens in containers made of iron. Containers that needed a restricted kitchen implement to gain entrance, so you had better bring a claw hammer and possibly a nail. And we certainly never left them half full.
Blooming lightweights.
Harumph!

Party Seven's? Fantastic, can remember them well. Any bloke turning up at the front door with a Party Seven and a girlfriend with a bottle of Strongbow was always welcome when my parents were away for the weekend, and had forbidden me to have a party.

Ah, those were the days.

E gawd, what are teenagers like these days, leaving booze behind? You sure they just didn't piss in the bottles?

Girly-lightweights!
Me and my mates had to nick the rough scrumpy from a barn at the village farm.....it made us quite ill but we did have some fun!

I recall Party Sevens - they were a useful way of getting into a party, and no one ever wanted to open the darned things - so it was carried home again and dusted off for the next party! Eventually mine went rusty ...

Half weren't opened because someone almost caught them and they ran! Some things change, but not young people boozing it up! Nobody on an allowance would leave good hootch go to waste...
