Pond Life

I spent a little of the afternoon photographing dragonflies over at the pond today. This creature had just emerged, crawling out of the skin of it nymph form, and was drying its wings out in the sunshine.

I like it, you can see the "blood" making its way up the wings. Did you just chance upon it?

Nice photo! We get them predating around our pond.

Lucky you and your dragonflies that can bask in the sun. Here it's been raining so much that we only get the pond.

Great photo. I love dragonflies and butterflies but I find moths a bit creepy. I think it's the hairy bodies. When I was young my parents had an orange-blossom tree (don't know the proper name)in the garden which always attracted loads of butterflies . I was fascinated by them and spent hours looking them up in books and learning all the different names.
I didn't have many friends.........
